Born and raised in New York, Ayanna Besson, DrPH(c), MPH, has served as a public health professional for over 7 years. She is a doctoral candidate in epidemiology at SUNY Downstate's School of Public Health with expertise in plant-based nutrition, Type 2 diabetes prevention, community-based participatory research, and community health promotion. She has previously worked in program management to address the disparities in patients with Substance Use Disorder (SUD) through clinician training and has also worked to link underserved intellectually and developmentally disabled (ID/DD) children and adults to care.
